Clinical Operations Professional (Consultant)

Position Overview

We are currently seeking to expand our network of team members to lead and support client projects in a consulting capacity. Our projects are well suited for independent consultants who have pharmaceutical industry experience with a deep understanding of GCP. Candidates must have thorough knowledge of new regulatory requirements for proactive risk management, including sponsor obligations for oversight of service providers.

Our team members who fulfill consulting activities are experienced industry professionals who are able to perform gap analyses and design and implement solutions in an effective and fit-for-purpose way. Our team members utilize Avoca’s library of tools to propose solutions for clients to fill gaps. They are adept in managing internal teams to meet client needs. An ideal candidate will have substantial knowledge of clinical research, with expertise in relevant specialty areas such as quality systems, risk management, outsourcing models, effective oversight, clinical operations, and change management. They will have the ability to review and edit leading practices and documents to match ICH E6 (R2) and other regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate must be self-driven with a sense of urgency and the ability to work effectively and independently in a virtual company environment. We find that successful team members are passionate about bringing solutions to the industry and have a desire to make a tangible difference for our clients. The ability to manage client expectations and look at issues through a business development lens is preferred.

 

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of successfully adding value to client teams
  • Experience working in a senior role in CRO/Pharmaceutical industry or as a consultant in the industry
  • Minimum BA/BS in a scientific or business discipline
  • Strong presentation and reporting skills via MS PowerPoint and oral presentations

 

Clinical Operations professionals work virtually; however, travel to client locations is required on an as-needed basis.

 

Client Delivery Associate

Position Overview

We are currently seeking to expand our Client Delivery team. Our Client Delivery team members are experienced industry professionals who are able to assess the needs of our clients, recommend tailored Avoca services, and manage complex projects across research, consulting, and Avoca Quality Consortium offerings. The Client Delivery Associate will work closely with internal teams, including Client Development and Client Engagement, while providing excellent customer service and support to clients.

 

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Partner with Avoca business development colleagues to meet with prospective clients and demonstrate Avoca’s ability to offer solutions to clients’ specific needs
  • Host webinars on special area industry topics that Avoca is addressing
  • Provide demos of Avoca’s online knowledge center to existing and prospective AQC members and highlight the benefits of being an AQC member
  • Review and edit project proposals to ensure scope of work and deliverables address client needs and can be satisfied by Avoca
  • Project manage client consulting projects and provide consulting activities as needed on client activities
  • Review marketing content and collaborate on white papers

 

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must be self-driven with a sense of urgency, a solution-oriented mindset, and enthusiasm for customer service. He or she should be prepared to work independently and collaborate effectively in a virtual company environment. The ability to manage client expectations and look at issues through a business development/relationship management lens is preferred. The candidate must be adept at managing internal teams to meet client needs, possessing extremely strong communication skills and the capacity to navigate complex organization structures. In addition, he or she should have substantial knowledge of clinical research, with expertise in relevant specialty areas such as quality systems, risk management, outsourcing models, effective oversight, clinical operations, and change management.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in a client-facing role in CRO/Pharmaceutical industry or as a consultant in the industry
  • Strong presence with outstanding written and oral communication skills, including presentation and reporting skills via MS PowerPoint
  • A proven track record of successfully adding value to client teams and demonstrating excellent decision making/problem solving skills
  • The ability to embrace teamwork, establishing effective working relationships and trust with customers and stakeholders (internal and external)
  • A minimum of a BA/BS in a scientific or business discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in clinical trial execution

 

We boast a virtual environment with a strategically located home office in Princeton, NJ. Client Delivery members will be expected to balance their time between Princeton, remotely, and at client locations as needed.
