March 6, 2020
Washington, DC – The Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) and The Avoca Group will jointly recognize leading Sponsors and CROs at the ACRP Awards & Recognition Ceremony on Friday, May 1, during the ACRP 2020 annual conference in Seattle, Washington.
Investigational sites chose finalists for the ACRP-Avoca Quality Awards through a research study conducted by The Avoca Group.
In this research, investigational sites rated Sponsor and CRO attributes (including responsiveness to questions, knowledge of the study protocol, and frequency of CRA turnover, among others) and study execution (including setting of realistic patient recruitment goals, design of CRF, and ease of EDC systems, etc.).
Finalists for the ACRP-Avoca CRO Quality Award include:
- Covance Inc.
- ICON plc
- PRA Health Sciences
Finalists for the ACRP-Avoca Sponsor Quality Award include:
- AstraZeneca plc
- GlaxoSmithKline plc
- Novo Nordisk A/S
Winners will be announced Friday, May 1, during the ACRP Awards & Recognition Ceremony.
“We are honored to continue our collaboration with The Avoca Group and to give clinical research sites a platform to recognize Sponsors and CROs who provide high-quality support to streamline clinical trial operations at the site level,” says Jim Kremidas, ACRP Executive Director. “Recognition of quality partners in the clinical trial community greatly supports our mission to promote excellence in clinical research.”
“Research site staff are on the front lines of clinical research, and this puts them in a unique position to nominate recipients of this award,” says Patricia Leuchten, Founder and CEO, The Avoca Group. “It’s been a pleasure to engage with sites as part of our research and to partner with ACRP to offer this award to deserving clinical trial Sponsors and CROs.”
ACRP and The Avoca Quality Consortium will also on Friday, May 1, host the ACRP-Avoca Quality Congress—bringing together executives and other key leaders to discuss patient centricity in clinical trials.
Under the theme of “Adding Electricity to Patient Centricity: Energizing Solutions,” this full-day interactive symposium will bring together executives and other key leaders from sites, sponsors, CROs and tech providers for an examination of recent trends for the use of patient-centric tools and technology, and the associated successes, challenges, and barriers for integrating adoption across all stakeholders.
Casey Orvin, President of Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS), will deliver the Quality Congress keynote address, “Survey Says: Clinical Trials in the Digital Age Impact All Stakeholders More than Originally Imagined.”
Orvin’s address will highlight data from several recent SCRS surveys that shine a light on industry trends, technologies to keep an eye on, the status of site education and implementation, and the concerns or and advantages to sites globally.
